5 Powerful Product Creation Shortcuts
Secret #1:Â Ethically Rip Off Bestselling Products… It’s A Fundamental Of Marketing Believe It Or Not
Don’t jump the gun!
Before you do anything at all:
â— Research your market to find out what type of product you can create that will sell off the “shelves.â€
â— Collect working hot buttons for your product.
â— Outline your product.
Here’s the thing with product creation. You want to think like a good marketer when outlining what product you’re going to create.
That is, you don’t want to be an “inventor.†Instead, find a product that’s selling well and “ethically rip
it off.â€
You see… information is almost always repackaged anyway. If you want to sell well, then you want to repackage the type of information that’s selling well, then put your own spin on it. Position it with a Unique Sales Position.
Why Not Just Wing It?
Because you’ll find several hours, weeks, or even months were wasted. It won’t sell well. No matter
what you think. I’ve been there and done that.
Your product’s not going to sell well unless the market is already looking for it. What I mean is that the market already has an idea of what they want in a product. They’re already buying products like these. It’s very fundamental (but not as common as it should be) in marketing to simply supply your market’s demand. That’s all it comes down to.
The tendency is to get creative and create something totally new. That’s not what you want to do. You know how there are generic cereals for top cereal brands? That’s what you want to do, but with information or software. Just be an ethical copy cat.
There’s nothing artistic about it. Doesn’t mean it’s bad. That’s just marketing.
Secret #2: Make A List Of Working Hot Buttons
When you have an idea of the type of product that’s going to sell like crazy, it’s time to “ethically rip off†sales messages.
â— You know what type of information and software sells from searching marketplaces such as ClickBank (and even Amazon.com Bestsellers)
â— You know what type of marketing messages sell from searching marketplaces such as ClickBank
You don’t want to reinvent the wheel with your sales message either. You want to make a list of all these “hot buttons†within working sales messages. This is sometimes called “swiping†in copywriting, and it’s totally normal. The word “copywriting†actually comes from copying other ads (in an ethical way of course). You don’t want to violate copyright in anyway. You simply want to take what’s underneath the words and put them in your own words.
Let’s analyze the sales page for a hot selling info product called Jamorama. Let’s say you got Jamorama and you’re wanting to create a product like it, but better. You also want to ethically rip off the sales message. For example…
The headline tells me that it’s very appealing for this market to be able to play guitar like some of the most well-known names. You definitely want to add this appeal in YOUR sales message too. But WITHOUT infringing on copyright. You must use the same hot buttons, but in your own words.
Check out this first sentence in this opening paragraph. It talks about having the ability to play virtually every song you hear. If you were creating a similar guitar product, you would list that as a hot button that you’ll need to add to your sales message too.
Take a look at the top of this page. You’ll probably need to make a similar case. And explain that your approach solves this problem. Because if it’s on this great sales page, then it must be a big concern for the target market.
Most importantly, you want to make sure you fulfill these hot buttons in your product.
Secret #3: Interview Experts
Here’s how a lot of well-known internet marketers today got their start when they were “nobodies.â€
â— When they had no credibility.
â— When they didn’t feel like writing an entire ebook.
â— When they wanted to sit back and leverage the knowledge of others.
I’m talking about recording interviews with experts and selling those recordings.
For example:
Tellman Knudson has positioned himself as THE master list builder today.
Almost all his products are about list building. But when he got started, he had no knowledge of list building nor did he have credibility. His first product was called List Crusade. It was recorded conversations of Knudson interviewing experts about list building. The product was a hit.
If you want to leverage recorded conversations with experts for your $27-$37 product, then you certainly can IF you have the guts to talk to these people. Here are a couple ways to record conversations:
1. Join a teleconference service that also allows free recording. Both you and the expert call the teleconference number and the service will record the call for you. Be sure to test this out with a friend before actually attempting, because you don’t want to end up with no recording. Just search for a free service in Google. There are plenty.
2. If you have a few bucks to spare, you can get Skype and the addon that allows you to record conversations called Pamela. Everyone in the internet marketing world seems to be using Skype these days, so it’ll probably be easier to record a conversation with them on Skype.
Secret #4: Use Quality, Limited PLR
One way to quickly and easily create an ebook on your subject is by investing in quality, limited private label rights content with a flexible license.
â— You want limited licenses to be sold. At least under 100. Because you don’t want your customers buying the exact same ebook under two different titles.
â— You want the information to be of quality.
â— You want the license to be so flexible that you can copy and paste the information into your ebook as is and claim full authorship. If the license isn’t this flexible, than what’s the point of buying PLR content?
Here are some ways you can use this PLR:
â— Use PLR articles as book chapters. Write part of the ebook, use PLR for other chapters.
â— Rename an entire PLR ebook, get new graphics created, and sell.
There are getting to be more and more PLR writers these days.
Why?
Because internet marketers are finding out there’s a lot to be made in creating PLR. A couple places you can look for limited, quality PLR are Warrior Forum WSO Forum and Digital Point.
You can also get on the lists of PLR writers. You can usually find these type writers at these forums as well.
Secret #5: Dragon Naturally Speaking
If you’re not much of a writer or a speaker, you can still have your own original ebook. Although expensive, the software “Dragon Naturally Speaking†allows you to talk into a microphone as it automatically types out the words for you.
This is good if:
â— You can’t write worth a lick.
â— You enjoy talking more than writing, yet you don’t have good enough public speaking skills to record and sell mp3s.
It’s also amazing how fast you can pump out an entire ebook. One hour of talking into a microphone normally contains enough content to fill an entire ebook.
